I found this Kroll i have not done it yet but supposedly it works to get the vetran status for the gun you are missing in BFBC2.
After looking around, i found out all you need to do to get the veteran status (2 games registerd)
Is register an account for Battlefield Heroes
Just go here:
1. https://www.battlefieldheroes.com/user/register
2. Sign up with the same email your EA/BC2 account is registered on.
3. Create a character.
4. Go here: Enter your age | Battlefield Bad Company 2 (Veteran status page @ official bc2 website)
5. Log in, and refresh your veteran status
6. And your good to go for your M1 garand in BC2.
7. (Optional) You can also download the BattleField 2 demo here ftp://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/demo...field2demo.exe
8. (Optional) Register the Battlefield 2 Demo on the same email/account your Bad Company 2, EA and Battlefield Heroes is registered on
If step 7 & 8, do not work for you, fear not as you only need a rank 1 veteran status to get the M1 Garand. Which is required already by following step 1 through 6
